How to uninstall cydia applications on your iPod Touch/iPhone(Remove an unwanted app from your device)

By

Check out my guide on "How to download YouTube videos on to your iPod Touch/iPhone".

Have a look at "5 Ways to customise the look of your iPod Touch/iPhone".

So, you've installed an application on your iPod touch/iPhone and have decided you don't want it anymore? Well, this would be easy to get rid of if you had got the app from the App Store, but it is only slightly more complicated if it is a 3rd party app. In this hub I'll take you through what to do, step by step. After this guide you'll be able to gain more space on your device for more great apps from Cydia!

Step One

First up you need to launch Cydia. You should know how to do this by now, just tap the icon and allow it to load. It is better to only start navigating around Cydia once it is fully loaded, as this can reduce the chance of you running in to problems.

Step Two

Now you need to hit "Manage" on the bottom bar of Cydia. This will take you to a page with three options, 'Packages', 'Sources' and 'Storage'. Packages will take you to a list of everything you have downloaded from Cydia. The sources are all of the repositories which you can currently download packages from. Finally, storage is exactly what it says on the tin, information about the storage on your device. For this step we need to hit 'Packages'.

Step Three

For the purposes of this guide I have decided to remove "Falling Sand 2". Although it's great fun, it's predecessor is far better and provides me with much more entertainment. A little review of this app and some others can be found in the video below, why not take a look? Okay, so scroll down your list of packages until you find the app you want to remove. Then just tap it.

Step Four

Okay, so now you're on the screen for the app you've chosen to remove. Hit modify in the top right corner, and then select remove. You'll then be asked to confirm your choice. You can do this by tapping confirm in the top right corner.

Step Five

Finished! You will be greeted by a black screen that will remove your chosen app, this shouldn't take more than a few minutes. You can now see that the apps icon has been removed from your springboard and you have a bit more space on your device.
