The top gadgets on sale at the moment

Whether it's someones birthday or just a spur of the moment gift, a nifty gadget is bound to bring a smile to anyones face. The latest advancements in technology mean that you can do some pretty amazing things with a relatively small device that doesn't cost all that much. There are some gadgets which suit people of all ages and genders, and others that are designed for kids, some for adults, and then a few which are for either males of females. Flip Camcorders

Flip have produced a range of different video cameras which each have their own strengths. Some are higher quality and others have more in built memory. The unique thing about Flip cameras is how compact they are. They're small enough to fit in your pocket, while still packing up to a hug 8GB of memory and HD filming capability. They can also tak stills, so really it's all you want from a video camera! Ranging from about $140 - $200, they're a great gift for anyone.

WiFi Scales

If you want to get technology involved in you weight less (or gain, I'm not one to judge) then this is the gadget for you. It sends information such as your weight and BMI , or Body Mass Index, over a WiFi connection to your PC or iPhone/iPod Touch. You can then keep a record of your progress and make sure you reach your goal! The scales are also usable with som iPhone/iPod Touch applications like WeightBot and RunKeeper. The most intelligent thing about this piece of kit however, is that it can tell who is standing on it using past information. The WiFi Scales are available for about $140.

Soda Stream

This blast from the past has made a reappearance! Available from $100ish, this fizzy little thing allows you to make carbonated drinks at home. It's suitable for any age and also helps the environment. The gadget works by combining Carbon Dioxide with a flavoured drink and a little water, then just mixing it all up. Sounds fun, doesn't it?

Ice Cream Ball

Not exactly a gadget as such, but still pretty call! The Ice Cream Ball allows you to make your very own ice cream using any recipe you can think of. The best bit is that you get a work out from it. You fill on half of the ball with ice and salt, and then the other with your ingredients, then play with the ball for about 20 minutes. This leaves you with delicious, fresh, homemade ice cream. You can get your hands on one for just $50!

iPad

The iPad is Apple's latest release. Nobody's really quit sure what it is. It's very similar to a tablet PC, yet it isn't. You can download applications from the App Store and also use it as an eBook Reader. It can be bought with 3G capability so you can access the internet on the go, or just good ol' WiFi for a lower price. You can watch videos on the iPad too, and it's rather large and clear screen is great for this. It's available from Apple, starting at a not so cheap $499.
